Credit Action President and founder appointed OBE

Credit Action are delighted to announce that the President and founder of Credit Action, Keith Tondeur, has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his services to financial education.

Keith Tondeur set up the money education charity Credit Action in 1990, following twenty-two years in top level stock-broking in the City of London, while also dedicating his time to helping people in debt. From these experiences, Mr Tondeur recognised that personal debt was going to become a problem in the UK.

Mr Tondeur was Director of Credit Action until 2007, when he became President. As an inspirational speaker and leader, Mr. Tondeur speaks widely at conferences in the UK and abroad. He has also written many personal finance books and guides including; Your Money and Your Life and Thinking about Money.

Under his stewardship, Credit Action has developed into the leading money education charity in the UK, providing a range of resources, publications and training to help people avoid the pain of debt through better thinking about money. Today, Credit Action reaches around 750,000 people in the UK annually.

Mr Tondeur believes that there remains much more to be done to prevent debt. He said:

“The level of personal, national and international indebtedness is frightening, and we will see a greater demand for preventative measures in the future. Better money management at all levels of society will help us, individually and collectively, to make sensible informed decisions about how we manage our finances”.

I know it's a bit late but many congratulations to Mr Tondeur - thoroughly deserved and an inspiration to us all.

I agree with you. I like Savings Accounts.
This is really good you need to analyze your expenditure habit to be sure whether you should use Savings Accounts. You also have to ask yourself whether you afford to repay your Savings Accounts debt fully with disciplined.
