Credit Action selected as charity of the year at Credit Today Awards 2007

Credit Action - Charity of the Year 2007Credit Action was last month selected by the Credit Today Awards as their charity of the year.

The Credit Today Awards are the premier annual awards of the credit industry. Each year, alongside awards for companies and individuals within the industry, the awards select their annual charity of the year. That charity is the beneficiary of the proceeds of a raffle held during the awards ceremony.

For 2007 the awards selected Credit Action in recognition of the work which the charity does in raising levels of financial literacy and consumer awareness across society through money education.

On the night the sum of £4,747 was raised for the charity and a cheque for this amount was presented to Deputy Director, Chris Tapp.

Chris Tapp comments "It's wonderful for the work of the charity to be acknowledged by the credit industry in this way. We are always trying to persuade people that helping people across society manage their money better is in everyone's interest, the credit industry included. It's good to see this recognised in such a public way."

Do you want to work as a Credit Action trainer?

To respond to increasing demand for Credit Action's money education and budgeting courses, we are currently seeking to increase our available pool of training consultants. Consultants would be trained to deliver the Credit Action courses and it is anticipated that they would be required for around 3 one-day courses a year which may increase as our training offering expands.

A good knowledge of personal finance, budgeting and/or benefits is essential. Ideally this would have been gained through paid or voluntary experience in a welfare/housing organisation/department or advice agency or within the personal finance/credit industry. Candidates should be able to demonstrate good presentation and interpersonal skills. Successful candidates will be expected to undertake UK travel and ideally be able to undertake both weekday and weekend courses.

Training consultants would be paid on a daily rate plus travel expenses.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please send a copy of your current CV to Liz Man at lizman@creditaction.org.uk
