'Squeezed Out?' - Credit Action research available for download

Credit Action is pleased to announce that our latest research is now available to download: "Squeezed Out? - The outlook for consumers in a tight credit market" is a report examining the effects of the credit crunch on consumers, who in recent times have found their budgets squeezed tighter than ever before.

Many of the headlines recently have been made by the struggles of major financial institutions however the impact on ordinary people in such turbulent economic times is just as severe.

Our research proposes that relevant and practical money education programmes are essential in the fight to ensure that consumers are not burdened by money or over-indebtedness, and as the use of credit is knitted into British lifestyles we believe that it is essential for each and every person to know how to manage and use it successfully.

This research was recently presented by Credit Action at fringe events at the political party conferences. This was part of a joint effort with ABCUL (Association and British Credit Unions) and Cattles plc.

We were pleased to be joined by Kitty Ussher MP (Economic Secretary to the Treasury) at the Labour Party Conference and Mark Hoban MP (Member of the shadow Treasury team) at the Conservative Party Conference.
